Everything you need to know
New Loop is a deposit/return system for take away packaging with a focus on solutions for businesses, events and cafés that want to reduce their environmental footprint with our circular system where we deliver, collect and wash packaging so it can be used again and again. By doing so, we reduce resource consumption and waste in Denmark, extend the lifetime of takeaway packaging and promote green consumer culture. We are working to create a national deposit/return system in Denmark that makes it easy to handle reusable packaging for both consumers and businesses.
The New Loops Return Box is located at 6 locations on the SSI Campus.
Mortgage payments are made through New Loop's digital platform.
🟢 Scan the QR code on the Return Box with your smartphone camera.
🟢 Select payout via: ApplePay, GooglePay or credit card (only required first time)
🟢 Scan all packaging (bowl, tray).
🟢 Place all packaging in the Return Box door - close and press "exit".
🌎 Thank you for reducing resource consumption together with SSI and New Loop.
Kantinen offers bowls and trays with a deposit. Our range is designed with a focus on quality, functionality and responsible design.
We contribute to reducing waste, promoting reuse and recycling and minimising the need for disposable packaging. In doing so, we support the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with a strong focus on goal #12: Responsible consumption and production.
New Loop picks up the returned/refundable packaging, washes it and sends it out for another loop.
If the packaging is damaged or broken, the packaging is sent for recycling.
MobilePay does not have a solution for business-to-consumer payments (only the other way or person-to-person)
Doesn't it cost CO2 to transport and wash the packaging?
Yes it does, just as our waste is transported today, sometimes beyond Denmark's borders to be recycled or landfilled. New Loop transports the packaging to a washing partner in Amager, but transport is actually a negligible part of the carbon footprint.
In a recycling process, many resources are used.
Reusing more than 1000 New Loops reusable cups uses less than 100 litres of water and 1.4 kilowatts to wash the cups.
The production of 1000 disposable cups uses more than 100 litres of water and 350 kilowatts, as well as approximately 20% new fossil materials.

We use reusable, durable materials designed for multiple uses. When the packaging is worn out, we make sure it is properly recycled.
