FOR Municipalities
For those who want a circular city
Support the transition to deposit returnable packaging in public spaces with New Loop. We offer an easy and flexible deposit solution and infrastructure that reduces waste and supports an efficient return and recycling system in city centres.
That's what you get at New Loop
A MUNICIPAL SOLUTION
From plastic cups, coffee cups and beer mugs to pizza boxes and crockery, waste in urban spaces has a negative impact on both urban space and the public environment. With New Loop, your municipality can take an active step towards circular waste management with a deposit. We offer reusable coffee cups, drinking glasses and crockery with a deposit and digital tracking, making it easy for citizens and businesses to take part in the solution.
Establishing return points
Our solution includes the installation of outdoor ReturnBoxes in urban spaces - robust and user-friendly devices where coffee cups, beer mugs and other reusable crockery are handed in and returned to the return system.
We also recommend setting up indoor ReturnBoxes at local cafés, businesses and catering establishments so that customers can easily get the deposit back where they bought their drinks.
Digital pawn payment
When the packaging is returned, the deposit is paid directly to the user's credit card via Apple Pay or Google Pay - within a few minutes. This makes the deposit scheme simple and attractive to use in everyday life.
Packaging types
New Loop's solutions cover reusable drinking glasses, coffee cups, beer mugs, bowls and food trays. In urban spaces, we will initially focus on coffee cups and drinking glasses, while bowls and trays can eventually be integrated into the same deposit system.
All packaging is labelled with individual QR codes that enable digital tracking and deposit value management, creating transparency and flexibility in the system.
Case
Copenhagen Municipality
The City of Copenhagen already works with New Loop and supports cafés that want to switch to reusable coffee cups and a deposit scheme.
Among other things, the municipality subsidises indoor ReturnBoxes at participating businesses. This model can inspire other municipalities to promote the same behavioural shift in their own urban spaces and strengthen the use of return and reuse systems.
