A MUNICIPAL SOLUTION

Waste in urban spaces - from plastic cups to pizza boxes - is a burden on both the environment and the cityscape. With New Loop, your municipality can take an active step towards circular waste management. We offer reusable packaging with deposit and tracking, making it easy for citizens and businesses to take part in the solution.

Establishing return points

Our solution includes setting up outdoor ReturnBoxes in urban spaces - robust and user-friendly units where the packaging is dropped off and brought back into the loop. We also recommend setting up indoor ReturnBoxes at local businesses so that customers can easily get the deposit back where they bought their drinks.

Digital pawn payment

When the packaging is returned, the deposit is paid directly to the user's credit card via Apple Pay or Google Pay - within minutes.

Packaging types

New Loop's solutions cover reusable drinking glasses, coffee cups, bowls and food trays. In the urban space, we initially focus on cups and glasses, while bowls and trays can eventually be integrated into the same system. All packaging is labelled with individual QR codes that enable digital tracking and management of the deposit value. This creates transparency and flexibility in the system.

Copenhagen Municipality

The City of Copenhagen is already working with New Loop to support cafés that want to switch to reusable cups.

Among other things, the municipality subsidises indoor ReturnBoxes at participating businesses. This model can inspire other municipalities to promote the same behavioural change in their own urban spaces.
