SMK Fridays

Customer

SMK Fridays is an event held six Fridays a year and offers a unique museum experience in the evening hours, with a combination of art, workshops, music and drinks.

Location

SMK Fridays at the National Gallery of Denmark has implemented the New Loop deposit system, which means a significant reduction in the use of disposable cups. At each event, disposable cups are reduced by 4000 to 6000 cups.

Donation partners

Guests have the opportunity to donate their deposit to Plastic Change, contributing to the fight against plastic pollution.

The solution

The art of reducing disposable cups

Close collaboration with Kafeteria and New Loop ensures a smooth transition to behind-the-counter handling.

A circular deposit system

New Loop has developed the pawn payment system in collaboration with SMK Fridays, which has made the system more efficient and user-friendly. Guests scan the unique code on the cup, which is then handed in at the deposit booth. Here, volunteers validate the number of cups returned and the deposit is paid out.

Guests also have the option to exchange the cup at the bar for a new one or donate the deposit to Plastic Change by simply dropping off the cup in one of the many donation bins located around the museum.

New Loop is honoured to work with SMK in these beautiful surroundings and looks forward to more events in the future.

Step 1.

GRAB A CUP OF COFFEE

The employee takes a cup of coffee in a New Loop coffee cup. They don't have to pay a deposit; they just take it like they always have.

Step 2.

Rinse and reuse

Need to top up with more coffee? No problem, no problem. Rinse the cup and use it again.

Step 3.

collection container

When the employee has finished their cup, return it to the collection container.

Step 4.

Facility service

Facility service collects the cups and then packages them.

Step 5.

We pick up and return

New Loop takes care of collecting and washing the used cups. The cups are then returned to the company, now ready for reuse.
